Going Full Circle
Roleplay as part of performance management development
- The Client
- A UK electronics firm
- The Need
- Delegates are required to give coaching support to team members/colleagues on the results of a 360 degree assessment questionnaire. This workshop was required to give them the opportunity to practise interpreting results and giving coaching to others based on this feedback. Actors and observers would coach them in turn on how to refine/improve upon them.
- The Solution
- A team of four actors per event, each presenting delegates with scenarios based on the 360-degree assessment questionnaire and focusing on how to respond to work-related performance feedback. After each 15-minute interplay, each actor is required to switch into 'coaching' mode to lead discussion/feedback sessions.
- The Outcome
- Valuable practice in a safe environment for the delegates plus feedback delivered in such a way that it reinforces the key messages of the workshop as a whole.
- The Benefit
- The process reinforces and furthers a company culture based on open and constructive discussion of individuals' development needs.
