Forum Theatre, e-Learning and Croissants

Our exciting new blended learning initiative with Headline Training was officially launched last week with a demonstration to businesses at Headline's offices in Swallowfield, Berkshire.

In between the coffee and the croissants, we found time to demonstrate our unique approach to blended learning, based on the integration of e-Learning and instructor-led training with live drama-based learning techniques.

The initiative employs a three stage process: Tailored e-Learning modules; Instructor-led training; Forum theatre. The e-Learning stage acquaints learners with the basic facts, theories and background information for the relevant course through easily-accessible interactive scenarios. This enables learners to hit the ground running when it comes to the instructor-led training, which equips learners with relevant skills and techniques.

Finally, forum theatre is used to give delegates the opportunity to test and practise the skills they have learned in a safe environment. Forum theatre is interactive theatre, where the audience control the characters. Delegates are empowered to take ownership of the issues raised by directing the actors to try to resolve their dilemmas.

However, what makes the CentreStage/Headline solution so powerful is that the scenarios, the characters and the actors used in the interactive e-Learning modules can also be used in the live forum theatre workshops. This brings the learning experience to life while maintaining consistency in the whole process and making the learning points more memorable and more meaningful.

As well as receiving a demonstration of the e-Learning process, the business representatives at the launch got a delegate's eye view by directing three CentreStage actors in a live forum theatre style workshop. All in all, a very fun and worthwhile morning.

It was great to see so many of our clients at the launch. In fact so popular was the event, we are in the happy position of having to schedule a second date in order to accommodate those who were unable to make it.

So if you feel e-learning and forum theatre could be the answer to your training requirements, feel free to get in touch for details. We even have a free interactive demonstration CD-ROM, which we can send you on request.
