The use of one-to-one roleplay or forum theatre is a fantastic way of exploring the benefits of coaching and practicing it as a technique in a safe environment. What’s more, our roleplayers are experienced enough in the use of coaching not only to provide the appropriate level of challenge during the scenario, but also to provide feedback to the candidate in a coaching style afterwards.
Using professional roleplayers is the closest thing I've found to allowing individuals to practice skills for real. From my own experience, participants rate using professional roleplayers way ahead of traditional methods - it's now one of the first options I consider when designing skills development events.
